History

Franklin County school districts have a long history of growing and changing to best serve students. In 2011, Chambersburg Area, Fannett-Metal, Greencastle-Antrim, and Waynesboro Area School Districts joined together to create the Franklin Virtual Academy (FVA). In subsequent years, Southern Huntingdon & Tuscarora School Districts joined.

FVA believes the education of a child is no small matter and respects that every child learns in his own way and at his own pace.

FVA wishes to provide a personalized experience for every student by offering a custom blend of rigorous, multi-media rich online classes, supporting them with highly-qualified instructors who are available to help when needed, and delivering them through a safe, secure learning management system.

Uniquely, FVA students have the option of filling their schedules with online classes or creating a blend of online and in-school classes offered by their home district. Students may also enrich their experiences by participating in clubs, teams, and activities that take place in their home district.
